"Let your dreams take flight" Floral Card

Hi all,

This is my card made for Lulupu Challenge #18 - Load it up

I have also Made a video tutorial on making Easy Paper Gardenias, Do check it here

I have made a typical floral card. A Floral card is what I always prefer for loved ones, making my own flowers and gifting it as a card gives soo much happiness to me.

To tell about this  card, it has so many layers and embellishments,,..

The base is an inked layer, the 2nd layer of white CS is also inked. 3rd The layer is of embossed card stock and I have inked it using Distress Inks giving a double shaded look. I don't know if someone has done it, this idea just came to my mind when inking the embossed CS. I used two colors to give a gradient  shade look, where these two colors where the ones I used in the flowers. (Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar) and the last layer is the decorative diecut with the sentiment saying "Let your dreams take Flight". I used this sentiment having in mind my close friend who got engaged last week. Wish I could send this to her all the way to India.

Embellished with Handmade Gardenias, daisys, glittered flourishes , gems swirls, enamel dots and ribbons.

The Gardenias and Daisys where made with the Digital Die cut, using my KNK Zing. The Cut Design was from a anonymous user from MTC library.

Hope you liked my card.

"Very Happy Birthday 2 You" Card with flowers n stuffs...

Hi friends,

I am so happy and i am showing it through my card, with happy colors...

I recently got my big shot machine (teal blue) and i totally love it.... yes its amazing... i am not much into die cutting, but love when it comes to coordinating stamps and dies... got it mainly for embossing... i am gonna come up with lots of cards with embossing for sure..... its fun .... :)

The card base is made with selective embossing and some inking.... except the light colored little flowers other are handmade... Punched, softened, curled, arranged and embellished in the centered.

There two colors of enamel dots, the light colored pink one is from MME sweetest thing collection, the rose colored one is DIY enamel dots using Viva Paper Pen.... (Below are the details on how i made the enamel dots)

Enamel dots is a great embellishment for the projects especially for CAS style cards and layouts.. i got VIVA deco paper pen squeezed some a drop in a acetate sheet and after squeezing to the need of ur size take the sheet and give a slight dab from the bottom which ll make the squeezed drop look even and neat look.. allow it to dry for for 4-5 hrs and they are ready to add to ur projects. Don't not dry them on direct sun as they tend to crack, room temperature dry place would work.

Supplies Used:
PTI white CS for base, Sizzix Wooden embossing folder,
Recollections CS for flowers and for sentiment die cut
Mcgill Floral blossom Punch set, PTI Framed Out #1 Stamp and coordinating die, Studio G mini heart punch,  Recollection flowers and glittered flowers, Echopark and Bo Bunny PP for small hearts,
MME sweetest thing enamel dots, Viva Deco Paper Pen -  Magenta, Inkpad: Ranger Archival Black , PTI hawaiian shores, Hero arts Pale tomatoes, Antique Linen Distress

this is for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch

I was searching for a tute for making a banner for this card , i couldnt it find.. may be banner is not the right word? not sure...  i actually designed a cut design in Make the cut software... then i decided to jus make them manually.... I am here sharing how to make banner...

1. Take a  cardstock and trim it to 9"x1/2" (You can test it different sizes)

 2. Keep the strip of CS ready and take your scoreboard and small strips of making tape or any removable tape

3. Place the CS cross (I have kept one end in the origin and other end 2 inch approx away) and tape it. As they are thin, this ll hold in place while you score.

 4. Score it carefully @ 1", 1.5", 3.5", 5.5", 7.5" 8"

5. You will have 6 score/fold lines and 7 faces.

6. I showing you here to the folds are made. Note it carefully, which part to fold inside which one to outside.

7. After you fold it. V cut the ends with a scissors.

Now the 2 fold banner is ready, you can stamp it , distress it and give a nice look to it... You can also make 3 fold banner in the same method.

Here is the 3 fold banner i have inked it with distress ink pads, One side with Vintage Photo and other side with walnut stain.

Hope this tutorial helped you.

Expression of love!!!

Hi friends!!

Here I am with a card... I am not sure if its beautiful but i loved making it using distress ink pads, watercolor paper, mini misters and my own VARNA's Stamps.....

Here i have explained how i made the card....

I stamped those florals from VARNA's Floral Fantasy #1 with versamark watermark inkpad and added white embossing powder and heat embossed it.... I dabbed 3 colors of distress inkpad (picked raspberry, mustard seed, shaded liliac and dusty concord) randomly in the craft sheet and sprayed water generously over it from my mini misters and just placed a water color paper on it and gave it a shake... after taking it it was awesome, initially it was very light color.... it was wet throughly i dripped the excess water and dried it using mt heat gun then to give a extra detail and effect i pressed it the paper here and there with the left out ink in my craft sheet.... in this process i over did so got a stronger and darker color.... but i actually wanted a lighter version of this... but achieved it in my next attempt, I am also sharing that picture here... But water color paper and distress ink does magic..... its a must try technique...

the problem i faced is in stamping and embossing the sentiment stamp (which is also from the stamp Floral Fantasy #1), as i wanted my sentiment also above the flowers and not as a seperate layer so i had a hard time heat embossing as the water color paper had moisture and i long time cleared the embossing powder in other areas....

And also i found fact that once we stamp it wid the watermark ink pad, it stays for a long time, even wiping it wid wipes or kitchen towels... great finding... lol:P

finally i adhered the water color sheet to scored and folded cardstock card....

Hope i am not boring with long post....

Floral and Sentiment Stamp - VARNA's Floral Fantasy #1,
